It’s been about four weeks now that I have been on a dairy free diet.
We found out that our, then, 9 week old was most likely allergic to the milk in my breastmilk after he had blood in his poop. When I saw this I instantly panicked and went online to see what I could find and everything said this was sign of a dairy allergy.
I called the doctor the next day and we went in, she recommended that I go on a dairy free diet and see if his symptoms go away.
Sure enough, a few days in the blood stopped and he was much happier. I didn’t realize that his fussiness at certain times during the day were related to the dairy I was eating.
I have completely given up all that contains dairy and cassein, that includes coffee creamer and some breads and so much more.
I thought in the beginning that it would be easy to cut all those things I love to eat out, but I’m finding much more difficult than I could have expected.
I know that this is the best for my baby and so I will “keep on keeping on” with this diet and lifestyle change for him.
Awww. My son is allergic to dairy and I too went through similiar tough times when we cut dairy out of our house. Thank goodness I wasn’t breastfeeding! I think I would have been so miserable!I sure hope the baby stays feeling better!
I am going through the exact same thing! My little one (born Jan 08) is allergic to soy as well so no toffuti ice cream sandwiches for me
Sure hope our babies outgrow this stupid allergy!
